Antico Egitto contemporaneo: la mostra di Simona da Pozzo al MANN di Napoli

Nell’indagine di Simona da Pozzo, il passato archeologico torna a parlaci in veste contemporanea, con azioni e allestimenti site-specific, attraversando trasversalmente lo spazio e il tempo.” Così introduce Gaia Redavid la mostra It’s Raining Gods (& Goddesses) nel suo articolo uscito su Exibart a novembre, cogliendo la dimensione fisica della ricerca Atlas dei Corpi.

Dialogos part seven

Il 19 ottobre si svolgerà presso SuperOtium la prima tappa di Dialogos Part Seven. A metà strada tra installazione, azione performativa e laboratorio, il progetto artistico vede la partecipazione di Gianluca Codeghini, collettivo damp, Ermanno Cristini, Simona Da Pozzo, Jacopo Natoli, Giancarlo Norese, Luca Scarabelli, Luisa Turuani, Marco Vitale e, specificamente per questa edizione napoletana, di Bianco Valente.
Dalle 15 alle 21 la polvere di eventi si andrà a depositare negli spazi di SuperOtium come un intervento effimero che avrà la durata di un solo giorno.
Per tutta la durata dell’happening il pubblico, in un contesto informale, potrà seguire gli artisti nella realizzazione dei loro interventi e azioni e partecipare al dialogo.

Dialogos è un progetto artistico collaborativo, un dialogo tra artisti, nato da un’idea di Ermanno Cristini, Giancarlo Norese e Luca Scarabelli. Alcuni mesi prima della mostra gli artisti partecipanti iniziano un dialogo online, fatto di parole e/o immagini, che costituisce la base delle “ricadute” espositive, performative, laboratoriali ed editoriali.
Iniziato nel 2011 con una mostra presso Assab One, Milano, è proseguito nel 2013 al MACT/CACT Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea di Bellinzona (CH) (2013), nel 2017 al Vitrína Deniska e Galerie Caesar, Olomouc (CZ), nel 2018 presso Current, Milano, nel 2021 al gepard14, Liebenfeld (CH) e nel 2022 al Kuona Artists Collective, Nairobi (NGR).

It’s Raining Gods (& Goddesses)

Exhibition curated by Ex-Voto Radical Public Culture and Rita Di Maria part of the project L’Egitto e Napoli tra Antico e Contemporaneo, National Archaeological Museum of Naples.

Through the works created specifically for this exhibition, Da Pozzo places the finds from the Temple of Isis (rooms 83 and 84) and the Farnese Collection (room 13) of the MANN in dialogue with the sculptural group Monument Corpo di Napoli, already the pivot of the Atlas of Bodies research that the artist has been conducting since 2019 (with the support of Ex-voto Association for Radical Public Culture).
Also known as the Statue of the Nile, the sculptural group is located in the heart of Spaccanapoli, in what was once the Regio Nilensis, i.e. the part of the city on the edge of the central core of Neapolis where a colony of Egyptians settled in Roman times.
Da Pozzo intervenes with a playful attitude, but one rooted in research, a doing compromised with the unpredictable and the chaos of everyday urban life, but attentive to the dimension of the invisible. The artist’s studies at the museum have caused new images (actions, visions, dreams) to emerge from the exhibits, creating small time loops.
Three site-specific installations originate from the Navigium Isidis fresco, the Statue of Isis and the Flora Farnese and, through plays of light, transparency and refraction, place the fragility of water resources at the centre of the discourse.

13 maggio OPening premio Lissone 2023

The Lissone Prize this year has been reformulated by Francesca Guerisoli, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone, entrusting four curators with four exhibitions that will dialogue in the museum for four months.

Underlying the Lissone 2023 Prize is the desire to bring out the lines of research linked to the medium of painting through the eyes of curators and artists of different generations. Current research that can be traced back to contemporary painting is declined in multiple languages, which expose the concept of painting to countless readings.

The exhibition is divided into two chapters: the Grand Prix Section, with the exhibitions Pittura come pratica progettuale and Cose che accadono, the former curated by Gabi Scardi and the latter by Noah Stolz, and the New Visions Section, with the exhibitions Vedute, visioni, voragini and Sonata #023, curated by Saverio Verini and Lucrezia Longobardi respectively.

‘La Pittura Come Pratica Progettuale’ is the exhibition with which Gabi Scardi focuses on the work of five artists who share an interest in painting as design practice and are driven by a sensitivity to the crucial issues of our time.

Through conversations with artists Tiziana Pers, Isabella Pers, Concetta Modica, Stefania Mazzola, Maura Banfo and our curator Susanna Ravelli, I nurture a series of anthropo-eccentric reflections and attempts. For some months now, I have been weaving relationships between our plant companion species with a particular curiosity focused on their root systems.

A partire dall’osservazione e da diverse forme di ascolto dell’agency dei vegetali, con La Città Vegetale: cospirare azioni multispecie di riparazione, attraverso dinamiche collaborative e performative, Nicola ed io invitiamo i partecipanti a progettare non solo spazi ma anche nuove idee di urbe vegetale.
