8 temporary installations in the public space, widespread in the suburbs of Milan 2017-2018
Cities reveal in their urban fabric visible traces of what were, over the centuries, the city limits: gates, city walls, waterways. Today these limits have been replaced by a tangle of boundaries, even intestinal ones: economic and social margins, boundaries between rural and urban dimensions, passages, residual spaces and architectural barriers capable of challenging any level of ability. The Borderlight Collective (Lorenzo Bruscaglioni, Emilia Castioni, Nicola Ciancio, Simona Da Pozzo, Cecilia Di Gaddo, Isabella Mara) investigates these places with a view to reintegrating them into the city’s imagination, reshaping their light. Darkness as a space to be conquered, as a permission to create new narratives.
