This performance series brings together the practice of Kung Fu, alchemical sound design and speculative fiction within a learning framework open to participation and/or contemplation.

Forming part of Simona Da Pozzo’s research into relational ecologies and the interdependencies between humans and other species, this project – curated by Susanna Ravelli – explores practices of intersectional alliance through the grammar of the 12 animal forms of Xing Yi Quan (形意拳 — Boxing of Form and Intention)

The audience and passers-by are invited to inhabit the performance space in two distinct ways: through a kinesthetic and mimetic engagement, based on learning and the physical repetition of movements; or through contemplative participation, immersed in the accumulation of bodily energy translated and reworked in real time by Emil Cottino’s acoustic composition.
